October 30, 2005 : VINI BUONI D'ITALIA 2006 by Mario Busso and Carlo Macchi:
After having modernized the vineyards, Bruno and Gianni have brought a feeling of new luster to the beautiful ancient architectural design of the large XVIII century farmhouse. The choice of quality is demaning, but the results are worth the effort. The Barolo Tenuta Rocca is rated 4 stars, putting apart the evidence of the wood at the nose to concentrate on the freshness of the fruit at the palate. It is still young, but we believe it can be a winning horse. The Dolcetto d'Alba Vigna Sorì Rocca is very typical, clean, vinous as the Dolcetto should be. The Nebbiolo d'Alba Vigna Sorì Ornati has a wild note at the nose and is slightly alcoholic at the nose, but in the mouth reveals its balance. The Barbera d'Alba Vigna Roca Neira, very typical, is also young and we are looking forward to the the time when it will be ready.
