Profile
Tenuta Rocca is
situated on the hillside of Monforte d’Alba, Località Ornati, and is
painstakingly cultivating the best grapes for the production of wines of
great quality. Known for their red wines of great elegance and body, the
Estate was purchased in 1986. Its ideal climate and exposure to sun
positively influences the ripening of the grapes. Our quality commitment
has led this Company to become, along the years, synonymous with fine
wines. To the vineyards planted with Chardonnay, Barbera, Dolcetto,
Cabernet Sauvignon and Nebbiolo, Gianni and his son Andrea have added in
1997 one and a half hectares of Nebbiolo for the production of the
Tenuta Rocca and San Pietro Barolo, and in 2010 another half hectare of
Nebbiolo and one of Nascetta, a native white, reaching a total of
thirteen hectares planted with vines. With the increase in production,
an enormous investment both in the vineyards and in the cellar has been
made: green harvests and selection of the grapes are made by hand at the
time of picking, so that the maximum consistency is obtained, and of
course the utmost care in the general management of the vineyard using
biological methods is used. Modern equipments give a hand to the human
element, with a must: respecting the character of the wines.
